OutoftheBox Mentor led Learning - registering interest
OutoftheBox is a movement promoting personal and community wellbeing through the power of story and play.
Our storytellers create brave relational space to breathe, trust, listen, feel, wonder, play and love.
OutoftheBox stories are in use in a range of settings, including schools, care homes, workplaces, community groups, families, therapeutic settings and faith communities.

We offer these options for mentor led learning:
Essentials
· Three interactive sessions to equip you to tell OutoftheBox stories (five hours online over two months or face-to-face over one day)
The Art of OutoftheBox
· Five interactive Play sessions to grow your ability to help people respond to the stories and to learn the art of Community Play (eight hours online or face-to-face over one day). Prior experience of sharing stories in an OutoftheBox or similar approach (eg Godly Play) is assumed
Essentials and The Art of OutoftheBox
· the above combined

The learning occurs in small groups (max 14) with self led learning in between online sessions.

Courses are only for OutoftheBox Members. There is a one time joining fee of £49 which gives you access to the videos and scripts of the 49 Wisdom stories and support, including self led learning resources in an online community. Find out about Membership


The Learning Model
We playfully and creatively relax into stories together.  The learning model is action-reflection with time to experience the approach, to reflect on the experiences and to practise the art of OutoftheBox. The OutoftheBox approach will also be modelled in the learning process with the mentors drawing out the wisdom of the group to enable peer learning.

Where appropriate we would encourage you to ask your organisation to consider supporting you financially, as part of your Continuing Professional Development.

We may be able to help cover up to half the cost for those whose household financial circumstances would otherwise prevent them from attending an OutoftheBox course. We would always encourage people to first ask the organisations in which they work or volunteer to pay for the Membership.  A bursary of £100 is available to people living within the Sheffield Methodist District (which includes Retford and the Peak) or the Diocese of Sheffield (which is South Yorkshire and the area around Goole).
