You can support your local schools by registering your interest as a school governor or trustee. Contrary to popular thought – you don’t have to be a parent, or connected to the school in some way to be a governor/trustee.  For the school, the main advantage of having you, or one of your colleagues, join their governing board is the expertise and experience you can bring to the role. Knowledge of marketing, financial management, human resources, or data analysis will greatly improve the effectiveness of governing boards and have a positive impact on the education of local children.
