THE LAB.SESSIONS is a monthly cultural programme promoted by THE LAB.YRINTH. This initiative aims to dynamise THE LAB.YRINTH space, located in the Bolhão Market in Porto, dedicated to sharing the practice of multidisciplinary artists, not only through performance, exhibition and musical sessions, but also workshops.

THE LAB.SESSIONS é um programa cultural mensal promovido pela THE LAB.YRINTH. Esta iniciativa pretende dinamizar o Espaço THE LAB.YRINTH, situado no Mercado do Bolhão, abrindo portas a momentos de partilha da prática de artistas multidisciplinares através de sessões performativas, expositivas e musicais e, também, workshops.

Beatriz Valentim is a dancer, choreographer and teacher. She studied at the Dance School of the National Conservatory (Lisbon), the Elit Training Program of the Budapest Dance Theater (Budapest), the F.O.R. Dance Theater, at Olga Roriz Company (Lisbon) and a and a Post-Graduation in Contemporary Dance at ESMAE (Oporto); she also has a degree in Sociology from ISCTE-IUL (Lisbon).
Professionally, she colaborates with Olga Roriz, Raimund Hoghe, Mafalda Deville, São Castro and António Cabrita, Teatro do Montemuro, Sílvia Real, Francisco Camacho, Ensemble Sociedade de Actores, Né Barros, Jonas & Lander and Comédias do Minho. Her performance “What is a problem?” questions young people about their problems, in a show that combines dance, live music and visual arts, co-produced by EIRA, São Luiz Municipal Theater, Cine-teatro Louletano and Municipal Theater of Porto. “Vanishing”, in collaboration with Bruno Senune, is her new work, premiered in April 2024.

Beatriz Valentim é bailarina, coreógrafa e professora. Estudou na Escola de Dança do Conservatório Nacional (Lisboa), no Elit Trainning Program da Companhia Budapest Dance Theatre (Budapeste), no F.O.R. Dance Theatre da Companhia Olga Roriz (Lisboa) e concluiu a Pós-Graduação em Dança Contemporânea da ESMAE; é licenciada em sociologia pelo ISCTE-IUL.
Tem vindo a colaborar com Olga Roriz, Raimund Hoghe, Mafalda Deville, São Castro e António Cabrita, Sílvia Real, Francisco Camacho, Né Barros, Jonas & Lander e Joana Magalhães / Comédias do Minho. A sua criação “O que é um problema?” questiona os mais jovens sobre os seus problemas, num espetáculo que concilia dança, música ao vivo e artes plásticas. “Vanishing”, em colaboração com Bruno Senune, é o seu novo espetáculo, estreado em abril de 2024.
