The GEM Encourage & Elevate (GEMEE) Mentoring Program was developed by the GEM Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee to encourage an intergenerational exchange of professional knowledge, expertise, skills, insights, and experiences with a goal of elevating career of future GEM scientists.
We encourage active participation in the GEMEE mentoring program where mentees can expect to grow their professional network, learn to navigate professional challenges, and build their career path. Mentors and mentees should expect a minimum time commitment of about 1 hour prior to the GEM summer workshop and 1 hour during or within a month after the workshop. In the situation where there are more mentee registrations than can be supported by the available mentor pool, priority will go to mentees who are in an early career stage and/or new to the GEM workshop.
If you want to participate as a mentee in the GEMEE mentoring program, please register no later than Jul 9. You will receive information on the program once you register, however, please don’t hesitate to contact Hyunju Connor (
hkconnor@alaska.edu) with any further questions.
