Join the Declining Enrollment Advisory Committee

The Declining Enrollment Advisory Committee will work to create recommendations on how the district should address ongoing declining enrollment, which impacts our ability to provide equitable, high-quality educational programs for our students. As part of the ‘small schools’ process, Superintendent Marrero will review the committee’s recommendations on criteria to identify schools with significant declining enrollment, as well as for ways to address the challenges that schools and communities face as a result.

Participation Requirements:

We recognize the importance of this work and require a commitment to meeting attendance and meeting preparation. Each meeting will include pre-work and preparation, and members will be expected to provide reflection and feedback on documentation that will be posted for public review.

Meetings will be held virtually in the evenings on:

Meeting 1: Wed. March 2
Meeting 2: Wed. March 9
Meeting 3: Wed. March 23
Meeting 4: Wed. April 6
Meeting 5: Wed. April 20
Meeting 6: Wed. May 4
If needed, Meeting 7: Wed. May 11

We value the rich diversity of our district community and welcome applicants from a variety of perspectives and experiences.

The task force will have 30 members, and the application review panel of DPS staff and community members will select committee members with a priority of ensuring there is a broad representation of the Denver community.
