The District is extending the 10-day COVID sick leave that was provided through SB114 from January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022. Therefore, employees who have not used all ten days of SB114 COVID sick leave may use this leave between January 1, 2023 through June 30, 2023. Employees who have COVID related illness or symptoms will be eligible for up to ten days of COVID sick leave in total from January 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.

Per Senate Bill 114, California requires employers to provide COVID-19 supplemental paid sick leave for most workers through December 31, 2022. This includes circumstances in which workers are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and seeking a medical diagnosis, attending a vaccine appointment for themselves or for a family member, and/or if a worker's child is isolating due to COVID-19 infection. Workers, depending on classification, are entitled up to 10 days total from January 1, 2022 - December 31, 2022. Staff may submit a request for reclassification of sick leave hours form. Once the form is completed, Human Resources will make appropriate revisions to pay.

Exclusion Pay requirements from the COVID-19 Emergency Temporary Standards expired in January 2023. Non-Emergency COVID-19 Prevention Regulations that do not include Exclusion Pay requirements became effective February 3, 2023.
