#WomenLead: Volunteer sign-up
At #WomenLead, we strive to cover stories of women in politics from all parts of the world. But one roadblock we face during our research for each edition is language. Important stories from various countries are not covered at all in the English media, and we easily miss them. When we do find such stories, they are often in languages we don’t understand.

Many of you often help us by bringing to our attention such important stories from your countries. And we would love more such help and support. As the newsletter turns one, we want to build a community of volunteers whom we could turn to when we need help on some news from their country.

Would you like to come on board? Think of yourselves as country representatives for this newsletter, and help us improve our coverage of the places you come from. Sign up through the form below!

Q. Who can become a #WomenLead volunteer?

- Anyone who is interested in and cares about more representative politics, and would like to see this newsletter do a better job :)
- We would benefit greatly to have people who come from (or are familiar with) the politics of any country or region where English is not a major language.

Q. What are volunteers expected to do?

- Highlight any political updates from their regions that are important from a gender perspective. Especially those which may not be “big enough” to get adequate coverage in media outside the country.
- Help us if and when we are struggling to translate an update from a language you understand.
- Provide guidance and feedback on how we can strengthen our coverage of the country/region you come from (including helping us identify credible media publications we could refer to, people we could talk to, etc.)

Q. How much time are volunteers expected to devote and how are they compensated for their work?

- We don’t expect volunteers to spend a lot of time on this. Volunteers are essentially those who have offered to help, if we need any. As such, you may end up spending only a few minutes a week, or even a month.
- For those who want to contribute more proactively, volunteers could spend up to one hour a week, simply to scan the news for anything relevant.
- Given the nature of the work, we are not offering any payments for this, and hence this is a voluntary role. However, you would be credited for any inputs you provide on a specific story when it is published.
