Volunteer Application for Town of Warwick’s Mountain Lake Park
Mountain Lake Park is one of Warwick’s most unique and beautiful parks. It has 85 acres of land with hiking trails, a lake for boating and fishing, two pools, six pickleball courts, two theatres, an event hall with a kitchen, cabins for overnight stays, and community use buildings! There’s always plenty going on at the park, but there’s also lots of places to relax and enjoy nature. We’d love for you to join our team of volunteers that help keep the park beautiful and support the programs and events at the park. Thank you for taking the time to complete our volunteer application. We look forward to getting to know you and you joining our efforts to continue to build something special at the park!

Following are the many areas for which you can volunteer. Please check any/all that interest you.
Artists: The park is looking for artists to add art to the park in creative ways. An example would be to paint all the white pipes around the park with a similar theme or create a mural in the Arts Building on one of the large, white walls.
Boating: The park needs volunteers (ages 12 and up with adult) to test the park’s paddleboats to see if they are “lake worthy” or can float and the paddles/steering are working. Lifejacket required!
Cleaning/Organizing: The park needs help with people who enjoy cleaning and/or organizing! There’s lots to clean at the park including windows, carpets, office space, and more! There’s always plenty to organize at the park including office supplies, dishes, closets, linens, etc.
Computers/Systems: The park needs help with people who are good with computers and systems. Projects include: creating an interactive map of the Town of Warwick showing all public access areas and ideas to streamline administrative systems at the park.
Crafters: The park needs help with people (all ages) who can make some crafts for the park that welcome people in the Lodge or the Cabins. An example would be to collect all the beautiful pinecones around the park and create some wreaths for the Lodge doors or fireplaces.
Dog Walking: The park needs help with people (all ages) who like to walk their dog in the park. You would be part of the first ever MLP Goose Patrol Team!
Hiking Trails: The park needs volunteers (ages 13 and up) who can paint blazes on trees for the hiking trails around the lake.
Landscaping: The park needs help with volunteers (ages 10 with adult and adult) who can help with landscaping, raking, planting, cutting down invasive plants/vines, and garbage clean-up along the edges of the woods. We have 2 upcoming projects with native plants and trees! First work day is Saturday, April 13th at 3:30pm at the park. Bring gloves and lopping shears if you have them!
Nature: The park needs help with people who are knowledgeable about nature and would like to share their knowledge with others. Examples would be to create a plant guide to common plants found in the park or lead a spring walk around the lake identifying the plants and animals that call the park their home.
Parking Cars: The park needs help with people (ages 12 and up) who can assist with parking cars for larger events at the park.
Photography: The park is looking for great photographs of iconic places in the Town of Warwick with part of a tree or trees in the photo. The idea is to showcase Warwick and nature, and Warwick as a Tree City. An example would be a photo of Town Hall with the flowering tree in the foreground. Another example would be the fields of Pine Island with a tree branch framing the fields. Photos will be selected and printed on canvas to decorate the Community Room at the park. Credit will be given to the photographer.
Pickleball: The park needs help with people interested in pickleball and support for pickleball tournaments, clinics, and rating players. Also, support is needed seasonally with setting up the court nets and breaking down the court nets when cold weather arrives.
Swim Lessons: The park needs volunteers who can swim and like working with kids (ages 14 and up) to help during summer swim lessons.
Theatre: The Theatre needs some volunteers (ages 15 and up) to help with shows/plays. This would be jobs like greeting people, helping people find their seats, selling snacks, front of house help, and learning about the theatre lights and sound system, etc.
Woodworking: The park needs help with people who are experienced woodworkers. Projects include: replacing windowsills, railings and decking, trim work, building shelves, building Adirondak style chairs, and more!
