Een paar jaar geleden volgde ik een Stanislavski workshop van Seb Hardcome in Londen.
Ik vond Method acting altijd een beetje eng.
Ik zag altijd erg op tegen emotionele improvisaties waar ik achteraf dan niet echt iets concreets van kon herinneren. Maar ik ging de uitdaging aan, soms moet je iets doen wat je eng vind.
De workshop was een openbaring. Heldere technische stappen.
Het volgen van je impulsen, het scherpen van je fysiek en zintuiglijk geheugen, weten waar je vandaan komt en waar je naar toe gaat, spelen op actie, maskers af, het leidde tot een grotere bewustwording van mezelf als acteur.
Ik ben niet meer bang voor emotionele scènes want ik heb concrete tools om ze aan te pakken dankzij deze workshop.

A short workshop series (3x3 hours) for actors seeking a fresh overview, clarity, or a re-investigation of the principles of the Stanislavski system of acting.
In a safe group setting, we will begin by interrogating the 7 Essential Questions of Stanislavski, as well as related exercises and terminology - at source, before the technique began to develop in the hands of subsequent practitioners and teachers around the world.
We will use practical exercises, improvisations and scenes and monologues from a varied repertoire, to examine objectives, actions, obstacles, tactics, super objectives, stakes, circles of attention and more. The specific aim is to create clarity and freedom in utilising the system (rather than the feeling of being caged in by theory) because, like any good technique, ultimately, it has to be user-friendly and yield results.
You should leave the course with a clear understanding of the building blocks of the Stanislavski system, to aid in your further development as actors - assisting in your creation of complex character transformations as well as heightened efficiency in breaking down and analysing scripts and scenes. The classes aim to inspire confidence in applying the technique one participants own individual terms.
Please come prepared with the text of a monologue from a play, already learnt - in English, from any period or style (and no more than 3 minutes long). All other scripts will be provided.
