𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐁𝐒𝐑 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 - Spring 2021

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is 8-week evidence-based, scientifically researched programme which was developed in 1979 by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at The University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Since then it became the gold standard in Mindfulness Based Interventions helping people to build stress resilience, improve focus and concentration and make more skilful choices for better health and wellbeing. A growing body of research is showing the benefits of the programme for better management of chronic pain, illness, anxiety and depression.

During the weekly sessions, participants engage in various experiential practices, group discussions and awareness exercises, such as sitting and lying down meditations, mindful movement and mindful walking.

The course is primarily experiential and draws on the combination of the universal contemplative practices from the Buddhist tradition, on one hand, and The Western Medicine and Psychology on the other. In order to best benefit from the course, apart from the 2.5 hours weekly sessions and the All-Day Event, participants are assigned daily home practices and exercises, which are assisted by MP3 recordings, comprehensive Participant
Handbook and Home Practice Sheets.

This course consists of 8 sessions, and an all-day retreat. Class is limited to 15 people.
