Religious Education Classes will begin on Wednesday, September 6.
Religious Education for Grades K-5 will be on Wednesdays from 3:30-5pm. The children will be coming to RE each week. A schedule will be available at the parent meeting. The afternoon children will come after school and have snack until 3:45pm. Following snack will have a teaching and pray a decade of the Rosary – Altar Server training, a teaching about a saint, working on prayers, teaching how to respect God in the church, how to be
patient and sit quietly and pray, how to genuflect during Eucharistic Adoration, etc. One the Wednesdays Fr. John is here, we will have15 minutes of Eucharistic Adoration. Then teachers will have about an hour in the classroom to go over the lesson. Parents are welcome to volunteer when they can during the RE year.
Religious Education for Grade 6-9 will be from 7-8:30pm. On the weeks Father is at St Bernard, we will begin class with 15-30 minutes of Eucharistic Adoration. On the weeks Father is gone, we will pray a decade of the Rosary and a teaching . Then class will be until 8:30pm.
Mentor Groups for Grade 10-12 will meet at the church as scheduled (every 1st, 3rd & 5th weeks and when Father is here ). Our focus this year will be on "Growing as Adults in the Faith". We will visit a Newman Center to see what being Catholic in College looks like. We will also participate in service projects throughout the year – Possibly: Nutrition Mission, Sleep in Heavenly Peace bed building, Serving a meal to the needy.
10th Grade Confirmation will meet one Sunday afternoon per month from Sept–March. All who are intending on being confirmed this year will also need to sign in at Mass and complete a homily reflection each week - no matter where you go to Mass and bring a bulletin from that church. More info coming.
