Per latest US Census data, condominiums make up only about 5% of multifamily developments. This is a missed opportunity to provide opportunities for households to purchase homes in urban areas.
Congress for New Urbanism Utah Chapter, Urban Design Utah, SLC Neighbors for More Neighbors, and ULI Utah are hosting a free event to explore the barriers preventing condo development in Utah and how it could change.
The agenda includes 15-minute presentations about the state of condo development and an audience Q&A with the following industry experts:
- Dejan Eskic, Senior Research Fellow at Kem C Gardner Policy Institute
- Derek Allen, President at LandForge
- Tyler LaMarr, Partner at Miller Harrison Lawyers
- Michael Vela, Principal at HKS
- Jarod Hall, Owner and Architect at di'velept design
- Steve Waldrip, Senior Advisor for Housing Strategy and Innovation at State of Utah
- Representative Raymond Ward
- Senator Nate Blouin
- and more
