A Call for Presenters:
Are you a Relief and/or Development Practitioner connected to the Church? We are looking for presenters for the upcoming AWF Quadrennial Symposium on Relief and Development. We will be holding two workshops focused on Relief and Development respectively. If you have expertise in these areas, we would like to hear from you.
Please apply to present an aspect of your ministry in a report to be read at the workshop. We are looking for a panel of six presenters for each workshop. The presentations will be followed by a time of question and answers led by a moderator.

Requirements:
By July 1, 2020 please submit the following documents:
1. Symposium Panel Application
2. An abstract that reviews or outlines the major points of your paper.

Guidelines:
Each paper will be limited to six minutes long when read out-loud.
Your paper should explain the local context and a specific experience you have walked through.
Please plan to present your paper in Spanish, French or English.
Responses to the applicants will be returned by July 15th with final papers due by August 15th.

Choose one of the following questions to answer as the focus of your paper:

Relief Symposium:

a. Relief response is effective and timely. Discuss the coordination of a specific effort you led or participated in and the outcome. What were the key factors for the method of relief you chose to implement?

b. As Relief practitioners we are continuously learning. Discuss an obstacle faced by your team and how you arrived at a solution and lessons learned.

c. Relief efforts are coordinated and inclusive. How did you involve local people in responding to their needs?

Development Symposium:

a. Do you have a philosophy or guiding set of principles you follow? If so, could you discuss and illustrate one of them?

b. How do you learn from experience? Discuss how processes of assessment (communication, participation, and feedback) have grown your program.

c. How has your development effort strengthened local capacities and avoided negative effects?
