Description: Recognizing caregivers tells the story of your culture, increases feelings of appreciation and connects employees to their work. As staffing shortages threaten quality of care, retaining your best caregivers becomes paramount. Healthcare communities need to increase worker well-being and resilience, improve retention, and maintain high standards. Workforce recognition, which goes beyond appreciation tactics, is a necessary strategy that has been proven to have an outsized impact in healthcare.
Learning Objectives:
- Attendees will be able to understand the science of employee recognition; the differences between employee appreciation and recognition efforts; and how it positively impacts engagement and the patient experience
- Attendees will learn how focusing recognition efforts on storytelling helps to honor team members, increase retention, attract new workers and residents, and improve person-centered care
