NOVA Women's Choral Project - Vocalization Request Form
Thank you for your interest in NOVA Women's Choral Project!

We are a project-based women’s choral ensemble in the Greater Boston area that uses innovative choral experiences to raise awareness of issues that impact both women and our communities.

Auditions for participation in NOVA take place on a rolling basis throughout the season. To schedule a vocalization appointment, either in person or virtual,  please fill out the form below. Space is limited and all participants must show proof of full vaccination.

Each appointment takes approximately 10-12 minutes to include vocalization to determine range. Additionally, interested singers are asked to prepare a song of their choice to demonstrate vocal quality, technique and musicality. This song need not be a formal aria or art song - a simple hymn or folk song will suffice. Please note that this song should be performed without accompaniment.

Our singers donate their time and talent in service to others in exchange for unique choral opportunities and a vibrant community of singers. There is no cost to sing with NOVA.

If you have questions or if you need more information, please contact Founder and Artistic Director, Jennifer Kane, directly at novawcp@gmail.com.

Our next project is Standing Tall: Music for Our Mental Health, which is a concert designed to combat the stigma that often surrounds the topic of mental health. In this concert we offer a program that acknowledges the stress, anxiety, depression, and even trauma that many in our community face every day. Yet, we will also use choral music as a way to remind one another of our strength as individuals, the strength found in our communities, and the fact that we are not alone.Included in this program is Jake Runestad's Please StayShe Lingers On by Zanaida Robles, Light of a Clear Blue Morning by Dolly Parton, arr. Craig Hella Johnson, She by Laura Mvula, arr. by Andrea Ramsey, and Standing Tall by Ellen Gilson Voth.

Singers will receive music by 9/23 in the format of their choice  (hard copies or PDF's) and come to the retreat already having learned their parts.  The ability to read music is essential for this particular project!
