SELF ADVOCACY SOLUTIONS  SELF ADVOCATES CONFERENCE 2023 CALL FOR PRESENTERS
Self Advocacy Solutions of Arizona is pleased to announce we are accepting proposals for presentations at our Self advocacy conference, We Fall, Fight, and Rise as One Across Arizona, on Saturday, April 29, 2023.

We look forward to hosting an exciting day of learning and sharing for Self Advocates, Family Members, Caregivers, and Professionals serving the Arizona disability community in all its many forms.

The 2023 conference will be an online-only event.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

* The theme of this conference is "We Fall, Fight, and Rise as One Across Arizona". We are looking for presentations and/or panels that focus on the following topic areas:
 
• Basics of Self Advocacy
• Advanced Self Advocacy and Self-Determination
• Increasing Involvement of Self Advocates in Their Own Social Services Planning
• Managing Life Stages & Transitions
• Civic Engagement
• Financial Literacy
• Organizing and Operating a Self Advocacy Group
• Relationships and Abuse Awareness and Prevention
• Technology
• Education
• Transportation
• Healthcare
• Housing
• Employment
• Community Living

* Sessions will be 60 minutes long.

* The audience is expected to be a mixture of self advocates, family members and caregivers, and disability professionals, but the emphasis is on building the knowledge and capacity of self advocates. Please plan your presentation accordingly.

* If selected, Presenters will be required to provide all conference materials and presentation tools in accessible formats like large font size no less than 32 for PowerPoints, videos with CC and audio description.

* Presenters who have disabilities or panels including individuals who have disabilities are strongly encouraged and may be given priority consideration.

* A Certificate of Appreciation will be issued to all presenters/panelists upon request.

SELECTIONS FINALIZED:  February 17, 2023(Presenters who are selected will be notified no later than Friday, February 24)
