Letter of Recommendation
Dear University Instructors,

Thank you for supporting your student by completing this form. Your comments will help us select the best candidates for the World Languages Summer Seminar, 2023, Student Strand.

Each year, CLTA (the California Language Teachers Association) and CWLP (the California World Language Project) partner to offer a unique experience to college sophomores, juniors and seniors, who are majoring in a language, or planning to do so, to learn about what it might be like to become a language teacher. We are in great need of highly qualified language teachers in California and across the globe, to ensure the next generations of students are able to have the opportunity to learn other languages themselves.

At the annual Summer Seminar, one strand is set aside for the purpose of engaging a group of language students to consider a career as a language teacher. The students will experience what it takes to run a classroom, to make curriculum accessible to students, to engage them, and to promote global competence, interculturality, as they create a lesson and a project connected to the themes of social justice, the UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and more!

We thank you for helping us know that your student is a good candidate by sharing some of your thoughts about them. Thank you for devoting some time to support their candidacy! We greatly appreciate your support.

Sincerely,

Don, Liz, & Margaret

Don Doehla, MA, NBCT, Director Summer Seminar
Liz Matchett, Executive Director, CLTA
Margaret Peterson, EdD, Executive Director, CWLP
