Maker Spotlight, Made possible by the generous support of the Vogler Foundation:     Gerard Senese with Ryu Shu Taiko Drums
Description:
Join in a spectacular experience, an interactive workshop where children can learn about Taiko drums, while learning about the concept of the music, beat, and movement.
Taiko is an ancient Japanese form of percussion using large drums.  These drums are usually hand-made, and take many hours to make.  Taiko drumming is not just playing the drum as an instrument, but a musical art form, where the performer develops a personal connection with the drum.
