Thank you for showing interest in being a part of our Life Groups here at American Reformed Church. We are excited about this being an opportunity for the church to be more relational and lay the groundwork for meaningful conversation.
Since there are a variety of different options when it comes to being a part of a Life Group, we wanted to help place people who had a similar view of what they desired in the same group.
Therefore, we have established some broad categories to what a Life Group could look like as a way or organizing the groups—
• Bible Study Group – These groups will be focused on studying the Bible each time they meet. The group could select either a pre-formatted curriculum or even choose a specific book of the Bible to study.
• Family Interest Group – These groups will be centered around couples who have younger kids. This is helpful for parents since they can build the group around activities that include common interest with other couples with children.
• Sermon Study Group – These groups will continue studying the passage that was discussed by the pastor in the previous week(s). Questions for these groups hopefully will be provided by ARC, but it also could include questions of your own.
• Food & Fellowship Group – These groups will focus on having a meal together while intentionally living life together with others. It may or may not include a study, but will simply be a group that is emphasizing relationships and supporting one another.
• Social Group – These groups will focus on activities and hobbies that people might either enjoy doing or would like to try. They could include community fairs or festivals, or maybe simply going to see movies together. The goal will be about doing things with other people.
As you can tell, each one of these groups have a different focus. Now this doesn’t mean the group could not decide to fit into more than one of these definitions once the group starts to meet. But these categories are meant to help organize everyone on a group that has a similar interest.
