2021 Innovative Color Guard Challenge Registration Form
It’s the March Madness of Color Guard!  Join us for a tournament style competition.  Up to 64 high school contestants and up to 64 college and older contestants will compete head to head for the title of “Innovative Color Guard Champion.”  Here’s how it works.  Contestants submit three videos using the equipment of their choice—flag, rifle or sabre. During the first round, the round of 64, a judge will provide feedback on your FIRST video.  This is a head to head competition, and the judge will determine who moves forward to the next round based on technique, artistry, and performance.  In the round of 32, a different judge will provide feedback on your SECOND video.  That judge will determine who will move forward to the next round.  In the Sweet 16, a third judge will provide feedback on your THIRD video and determine who moves on to the next round.

What happens if you are not selected to move on?  No worries!  You will still receive feedback on all three of your videos!

The Elite 8 contestants will be asked to submit one more video to help our judges determine who will move on to the Final 4 and the Championship rounds.

Innovative Choreography will share a DropBox link with you so you can submit your video files.  Then, sit back and enjoy while our wonderful panel of judges provide feedback to you and determine who advances in the Innovative Color Guard Challenge!

*Tuesday, March 30th: Round of 64 begins
*Tuesday, April 6th: Round of 32 will be announced, feedback on one video released
*Tuesday, April 13th: Sweet16 will be announced, feedback on second video released
*Monday, April 19th: Sweet 16 videos are LIVE on the competition website
*Tuesday, April 20th: Elite 8 will be announced, feedback on third video released
*Sunday, April 25th: due date for Elite 8 contestants submit an additional video
*Thursday, April 29th: Elite 8 videos are LIVE on the competition website
*Friday, April 30th: Final 4 will be announced
*Saturday, May 1st: Championship round will be announced
*Sunday, May 2nd: Winner announced

Video Information
*Routines should be between 30-90 seconds long.

*You may choose to use flag, rifle or sabre in each video.

*You may use music, but you do not have to.

*Videos should be done in one take.  You may be indoors or outdoors.

*Ideally contestants submit 3 separate videos.  This way a new video can be used in each round.  If you are unable to submit 3 videos, we can use the same video in each round.

*When you submit registration, Innovative Choreography will share a DropBox link with you.  Place your video files in the DropBox folder.

*All contestants are guaranteed to receive video feedback from three judges.  If you choose to only submit one video, all three judges will provide feedback on that video.  If you choose to submit three videos, one judge will provide feedback for each of your videos.

*Judges will determine who moves on to the next round based on technique, artistry, and performance

*If you are not selected to move on, you are still guaranteed to receive feedback from three judges.

*Sweet 16 and Elite 8 videos will be shared on the competition website

Required Waiver

Rules

*There is no specific performance area you must use.  Please choose a safe performance space either indoors or outdoors.

*Videos should be done in one take.

*Contestant entry videos will be displayed on the Innovative Choreography website for 24 hours.  This will happen during the Sweet 16 and Elite 8.

*All awards are virtual.

A copy of your responses will be emailed to the address you provided.
