Grandview ISD has several opportunities for parents, business representatives, and community members to serve on school- and district- level committees. Below is a list of committees with descriptions of each. If you would be interested in serving on a committee, please fill out this application form. As openings arise on each committee, the chairperson will contact applicants to give them the opportunity to join.
District Site-Based Committee - The committee is responsible for reviewing the district's educational goals and objectives. The committee is made up of professional staff, parents of students enrolled in the district, business representatives, and community members.This committee typically meets 2-3 times per year on a weekday at 4:00pm in the administration board room.
School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) - The SHAC assists the district in reinforcing the knowledge and skills children need to stay healthy for a lifetime. This committee reviews the district's wellness plan, promotes wellness within the district, and, if asked by the school board, makes decisions on curriculum to ensure that community values are reflected in health education instruction. The committee meets a minimum of 4 times per year, typically on Tuesdays at 4:00pm in the administration board room.
Campus Site-Based Committees - Each campus has a committee that is responsible for reviewing the campus's educational goals and objectives. These committees are made up of professional staff, parents of students enrolled on that campus, business representatives, and community members. These committees typically meet 2-3 times per year.
District Safety and Security Committee - This committee is responsible for developing, implementing, and reviewing the district's emergency plans. It is comprised of members of law enforcement, school board members, the superintendent, teachers, and parents of students enrolled in the district. The committee must meet at least three times per year.
