Adoption Application for our pet mice! This form is for pet owners, breeders and those wanting to breed. Breeders & those wanting to breed must also fill out our separate breeder application. We are always available for any questions/concerns you may have. If you are under 18 please have your parent or legal guardian complete this form. All communication needs to be via your parent or legal guardian unless special permission is given by them to speak directly to you (15 years old +).

Female mice are only adopted in pairs at a minimum, male mice can be adopted solo. We will not adopt out any female mice individually.

If you currently own rodents of any kind, it's important that you quarantine your new mice for a minimum of 2-3 weeks. Completely separate air space is best, but at a minimum keep them in a separate room.

Has anyone in your home been convicted of animal cruelty, abuse, neglect or hoarding? If so, what were the circumstances and what has been done to rectify the situation? 
What type of enclosure do you have or are planning to get for your new mice? Please keep in mind that mice are bottom of the food chain prey animals that prefer small well cluttered spaces. The rule is 50-100sqin per mouse. For example, a 10gal tank can hold 1-4 mice, a 20gal long tank 3-7 and a 40gal tank 7-14 mice. 

Too large of an enclosure without the right number of friends can cause a host of fear/stress behaviors in mice...things such as excessive hiding, overgrooming/barbering, self-harm and/or aggression towards one another and towards you. We do not want our beloved babies living in a constant state of fear/stress so will not adopt to those wishing to use too large of enclosures for too few mice.

What type of bedding will you be using? Paper bedding has been scientifically proven to not absorb the ammonia from their urine and is not an appropriate bedding. This can lead to numerous URIs in your pet rodents.  *
What food are you planning to feed your mice? We recommend Science Select Rat & Mouse, Mazuri Rat & Mouse and Oxbow Essentials Adult Rat as your primary diet. For breeders Mazuri 6F and Kalmbach Rodent Feed are great options! 

Mice should not be eating a seed mix as their primary diet as they will selectively eat it and will not get all the nutrients they require. A good lab blook like those mentioned above will provide all their needed nutrients.

We require a 50% non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of selecting which mice you want. The only times the deposit is refundable are if the issue is entirely on our end OR you are using a small animal transport that cancels their route and there is no other transport option. We currently accept PayPal (F&F), Venmo (F&F), CashApp and Zelle.

We offer transport within a 2-hour radius of Ringgold, GA for $0.45/mile round trip (rounded). If we have to drive to meet a transport outside of our area there will be a transport fee on our end as well. Availability of transport by us is dependent upon our ability to make the trip. Which location would your prefer?

We will only wait 15 minutes past the prearranged pick-up time. If you are later then 15 minutes the adoption must be rescheduled. If you are coming a long way, please plan accordingly. If you have a 2-hour drive, add in 20-30 minutes for any delays on the road. We are located in the eastern time zone; all pick up times will be eastern time. 

If late to a second pick up the adoption is considered canceled, and your deposit is forfeit. The mouse/mice will be made available to the public again. The same will hold true for any no call/no shows unless there is an emergency situation.

All mice must be picked up within 14 days of the deposit being paid unless the issue is on our end. After 14 days there will be a $2/mouse per day fee for boarding.   For those using a third-party transport service we ask that rodents are not reserved any earlier then 1 month out. Male mice are subject to our current available space for individual enclosures.   Do you understand? *
All our rodents are offered to our private waitlist Facebook group first. They get 24 hour priority access to all our newly available rodents. If your application is approved would you like to join? *

- We offer a 5-day health guarantee against URIs. If your mouse comes down with an URI within 5 days of pick-up we will replace the mouse at no cost. We do not cover any vet bills or other medical expenses accrued. 
- We guarantee against anything genetic causing death within the first year of your mouse's life (cancer, stroke, seizures, etc). We will replace at no cost. We do not cover any vet bills or other medical expenses accrued. 
- Returns/Exchanges are on a case-by-case basis are entirely at our discretion. However, in the event that you can no longer care for your mice we will always take them back. We ask that you do not rehome any of our rodents without first consulting us because we care deeply where our beloved babies end up!
- You have done your own research and fully understand the potential health risks to rodent ownership and release Mystique Menagerie from any and all liability.
- All deposits are non-refundable
- We DO NOT adopt to minors without a parent or legal guardian present.
