PAYMENTS

Lessons are $30, but tuition assistance is available. (See scholarship section below).
Payments can be made at the beginning of each month via Venmo, Paypal or check.
Receipts and email reminders will be sent out to let you know when the fees are due.
All lesson fees are due in advance of your first lesson of each month.
If payment is not made by your 2nd lesson of each month, your lesson time may be opened up for other students.

LESSON CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellation of a lesson must be made AT LEAST 6 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time in order to receive a make-up lesson (for definition of a make-up lesson, please see below). This includes leaving email, text or voicemail. (submarineschoolofmusic@gmail.com or 585-748-3608)
No-shows or failure to notify the school within 6 hours is considered a forfeited lesson.
If you know of dates ahead of time when you/your child cannot make a lesson, please notify the school when paying for your lessons.
There are no refunds on unused make-up lessons or no-show lessons.
Should you decide to stop taking lessons altogether, please give us (Ben and Katie Morey) 2 lessons notice.

MAKE-UP LESSONS

Any lessons cancelled at least 6 hours ahead of the scheduled lesson will receive a make-up lesson at a time convenient to the student with one of our teachers. Your make-up lesson may be with a substitute.
Make-up lessons not used after 1 month will be considered forfeited.

HOLIDAYS / SCHOOL BREAKS

Exceptions will be made with respect to Thanksgiving break and Christmas break. The school will remain open through Winter break and Spring break. Please let the school know in advance if there are any school breaks or religious holidays that you will be absent during before the payment is due for that month. A calendar of school breaks can be found on our website.

WHEN YOUR TEACHER CANCELS

In most cases, when your teacher cannot be here, we will find a suitable substitute teacher and the lesson will continue as regularly scheduled. If your teacher cancels a lesson and we are unable to find a substitute teacher, we will skip over that weeks lesson and resume the following week. All payments will be pushed back to compensate for the missed lesson.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND TUITION ASSISTANCE

The Submarine School of Music provides tuition assistance on a sliding scale for qualifying students, based on household income, family size, and special financial considerations. The funding will come from community fundraising until we achieve non-profit status. If you are already paying less than $30 a lesson or would like to be considered for a scholarship, please indicate so on the next page.
