This is the audition sign-up to act with Improbable Players during the 2020-2021 school year! We are a theatre company that performs true plays about addiction with the purpose of educating and showcasing recovery. In-person perform primarily at schools in the New England, Tri-State, and Cleveland areas.
*PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH*
1) You must also be in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction for a minimum of 6 months. We define "recovery" as continuous abstinence from all mind and mood altering substances -like alcohol, weed, cocaine, heroine, etc. We are NOT asking for abstinence from cigarettes, antidepressants, aspirin, or opiates/anti anxiety medication that is prescribed and taken appropriately.
2) We strongly encourage people of color, LGBTQIA+, ages 18-40, and differently abled people to audition!
3) We strongly encourage people who are non-actors to apply! You do NOT need a performance history to audition.
4) You do NOT need to prepare anything for this audition, but you will be asked to share a 1 minute summary of your addiction and recovery history.
5) Compensation is $15/hr for rehearsal, $65/virtual show, and $100/in-person show. The shows you sign up for are up to you! Actors typically perform at 1-10 shows per month.
When?
Auditions take place virtually August 5th-7th, 2020.
Each audition is about 30 to 45 minutes long.
Please be prepared to tell your addiction/recovery story in 1 minute and read sides.

Auditions will be held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
