E-learning Facilitator Role - Application
Hello! Thank you for your interest in this unique opportunity to help guide our cohorts of learners (12-30 people per cohort) as they complete our 6-week e-course titled 'Creating More Respectful Workplaces: LGBTQ+ Employees'. You will be given all of the training and tools necessary to meet the facilitator responsibilities listed below however you must have some type of experience working or volunteering with the LGBTQ+ community to understand cultural norms and respond to student's discussion feeds and questions during the live Zoom sessions. Students will be HR professionals and business leaders across all industries. In addition to compensation, you can leverage this experience to gain or improve on a skill set for facilitation, as well as add this experience to your professional qualifications.

Facilitator Requirements
As a Facilitator for ​Creating More Respectful Workplaces: LGBTQ Employees​, you must have:
● An email address at which learners can contact you directly
● 3-5 years of proven learning experience in creating more respectful workplaces for LGBTQ+ employees. The facilitator could be - a member of the LGBTQ+ community (self-disclosed, optional), a part of an active LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group, a volunteer at their local LGBTQ+ Resource Center, or might have started LGBTQ+ programs in their workplace. (Note: This list is not exhaustive and serves only as an ideal reference.)
● Reliable technology/software/internet to access course content and to facilitate live sessions
● Basic proficiency in the tech/software used to moderate course content (delivering live sessions, downloading documents, commenting on discussion board, and other general navigation techniques)
● Basic administrative and management skills for program moderation
● An ability to communicate respectfully and constructively with learners
● The availability to facilitate approximately 27 - 37 hours per cohort (avg. 3-5hrs a week for 6 weeks) class for each cohort for the duration of the program with the possibility of increasing the number of cohorts and hours facilitated in the future based on facilitation performance and our learners’ intake
● The availability to provide a 48-hour response to learner questions in discussion forums
● A completed non-disclosure agreement

*Must be available to host a Live Zoom Session every other Thursday during the 6-week program.
Facilitator Responsibilities
As a Facilitator for ​Creating More Respectful Workplaces: LGBTQ Employees​, you will:
● Demonstrate basic knowledge on how to create respectful and inclusive workplaces for LGBTQ+ employees and any related research content
● Commit to the minimum time requirements as per schedule and meet the facilitator requirements as described in the agreement
● Complete the e-course in The Hive prior to the program start date
● Complete the required Facilitator’s Corner training course prior to the program’s start date
● Facilitate and record the online learning program defined by the program schedule
● Monitor and moderate the course to ensure that the learner community is progressing according to the timeline, and remains a respectful and safe environment
● Be familiar with the course layout, content, and documents
● Observe and respond to learner progress - see what’s resonating, where there’s confusion, and give feedback and encouragement in the course discussion forums to support success
● Serve as a primary contact for learner questions via direct messaging and discussion boards
● Facilitate discussions including each of the following:
o Monitor activity, dialogue and comments in the discussion forums
o Review and respond to learner posts, questions, and input based on guidance from Discussion Forum (Facilitator) Guidelines materials
o Encourage expansion of discussions by prompting learners to answer with well-thought-out replies and responses to others in their cohort
o Give positive or corrective feedback (as needed) based on learner contributions o Ask insightful questions helping learners probe more deeply in their thinking
● Host three (3) Live Sessions (via Zoom) per cohort in seasons 1 - 3 (1 Live session per season), with a required time commitment of 1.5 hours per live session (15 mins of prep before and after, 45 min hosting and 15 mins of buffer time for Questions and Answers)
● Utilize the deck provided to give an overview of program components, and steer participants towards meaningful peer-to-peer engagement and discussion during the live sessions
● Be available up to two (2) weeks after the program end-date to close open discussions or loops (if any)
