History Talk | Fin Dwyer | The Great Famine
The first of our Rebel Reads online events is a talk with historian Fin Dwyer of the Irish History Podcast on Wednesday 12th May at 8pm.
While the Great Famine lead to the deaths of around one million irish people in the late 1840s the story of what exactly happened is less well known. In this talk, historian Fin Dwyer looks at the causes of the Great Hunger and how Irish people tried to resist starvation.
The talk will stream live on Zoom & YouTube - and there'll be time for a Q&A afterwards. If you'd like to join a Zoom call for the Q&A portion please fill out this form and we'll send you a Zoom link beforehand.
