Dreams of Hope has been serving LGBTQIA+ youth for 20 years in the Southwestern Pennsylvania region.
Through the power of the arts, Dreams of Hope provides the region’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, asexual, and allied (LGBTQA+) youth a welcoming environment to grow in confidence, express themselves, and develop as leaders.
We are looking to expand our working Board to support our staff and mission. We are interested in speaking more with you if you have experience in:
- finance/accounting,
- fundraising,
- HR/organizational development,
- arts/education programming,
- working with youth of color,
- other skills!
We want the people on the Board to reflect the young people in our programming. Disabled, BIPOC, queer, trans, femme- or masculine-of-center, poor, anti-racist, and all the many intersections of these identities are representative of the young people in our programs.
Dreams of Hope has two main programs anchored in youth leadership development and creative expression.
theatriQ is a theatre program offered free of charge to queer and Trans young people, and
sQool is an educational outreach program which centers queer arts, history, culture and advocacy offering a wide range of residencies, workshops and creative learning opportunities.
We are recruiting for summer/fall 2024. If you have an interest in Board volunteership and bettering the lives of LGBTQIA+ young people, please complete the form at the link below and a Board member will be in contact within a few weeks. In the meantime, we would love for you to attend our upcoming events and introduce yourselves! Thank you!
