SJBTS VBS Adult Volunteer Opportunities
Preschool VBS: June 24-28 (9:00-12:00) 2.5-5 year old campers
VBS: July 22-25 (9:00-3:00) for rising 1st-5th grade campers

Our Shout for Joy VBS is a diocese-wide curriculum that will take an adventure through the psalms! Both camps are art-based and will create a space to explore the psalms through music, story, games, art and drama. 

We will welcome campers for fun days of joy, friendship, and faith formation. Volunteers are a key part of the offering. Would you please look at the list below and complete the ways in which you would like to volunteer. All lead volunteers may be asked to complete Safe Church training and a background check.

Extra Hands for Preschool VBS: We need all hands on deck for our youngest campers. We will sing, create art, hear stories and play! Have a talent/passion?...we can add you in to share your gifts with the campers too!

Popsicles + Launch Leader for Preschool VBS- This is a great position to volunteer for if you have kids in the VBS program or if you are a staff member at SJBTS. 
Popsicles + Launch volunteers help close the VBS day in a meaningful way...with a popsicles, sign-out help and a thankfulness statement!

Lunch Server for VBS - This is a key role at camp. Lunch volunteers arrive to provide care to/watch campers while leaders and staff take a small break and campers eat their lunch. 
This is a joyful activity with direct interaction with all of the campers.
Lunch will be picnic style on the lawn from 12:00-1:00.
A team of two-three works each day. So don't worry that you will need to do it all yourself!
Art Or Drama Leader for VBS - There are two art leads for the art program at VBS camp each day and 2 Drama leads--one staff (same all week), one volunteer. 
They will lead the week's art. Art helpers arrive 30 minutes before the session to receive instructions, and assist the campers with the lessons.

Extended Care VBS Leader (3:00-5:00): We are trying to offer this for the first time this year to help with busy and/or working families/guardians. During this time, kids would have an additional snack, crafts/game time and movie time.
