Groundwater is an important source of drinking water and private wells serve most rural residents in Calumet County.  It is important to know the quality of your drinking water by testing on an annual basis for bacteria and nitrates - at a minimum.  

Benefits of participating in the County's annual Group Testing Program include bottle pick up & drop off convenience, reduced pricing for group testing participants and an education night held 6 weeks after the testing day.  The education night is an opportunity to learn how to read your results, as well as how to resolve any problems with your water, including plumbing, proper well maintenance and at home-practices to improve your drinking water.
