Sense-ational STEM
Taught by Mrs. Lohr and Mrs. Page Grades K-2
Come join Mrs. Lohr and Mrs. Page as we go on a sense-ational STEM adventure! In this hands-on science club, we will use our 5 senses as we experiment, build, and create! You won’t want to miss the opportunity to make your own edible slime, construct candy towers, make moon sand, build your own snow globes, and more! Come learn with us and discover how we use our senses to make science sense-ational!
It's All About Animals and Art!
Taught by Mrs. Marshallsea Grades 2-5
Rabbits, Tenrecs, Lizards and More! Come join in the fun of science and art, as we explore mammals and reptiles in the art room. Art can help us explore our relationship to wildlife and can help us think about how we care for animals and the environment. We will create some amazing animal art using a variety of materials, and we might be able to see some of our animals in person! Come ready to join in and feed your curiosity about animals and art!
STEMtastic Scientists
Taught by Mrs. Howell Grades 2-5
We are heading on a STEMtastic mission where we will explore the world of science through hands-on experiences. We will investigate the science behind engineering, meteorology, and chemistry with cool experiments and projects. Get ready to build unique structures, explode some concoctions, and delve into some exciting STEM challenges. Don't miss out on this amazing STEMtastic experience!
Ecosystem Art
Taught by Ms. Hill Grades 3-5
Explore Underwood’s urban ecosystem through the lens of art integration. We will use the apps Goose Chase and INaturalist to explore and contribute to citizen science projects, while documenting the plant and animal species on our campus. Not only will we use technology and tools to collect and study soil and plant samples, we will also document Underwood’s species through art. We will build terrariums with an expert, explore various print-making techniques, and have a blast taking a closer look at the species who call Underwood home!
