In January 2023, NAMI Indiana hosted a 2 day Sequential Intercept Model (SIM) Facilitator Training. For the first time, Indiana has (26) people certified by Policy Research Associates (PRA) to facilitate SIM mapping workshops to help communities better understand the assets and gaps in their systems and create strategic plans to reduce the number of individuals with mental illness entering or returning to the criminal justice system. Local stakeholders such as CIT (Crisis Intervention Team) steering committees and local Indiana JRAC (Justice Reinvestment Advisory Council) Committees may apply.
