Events Support & QA Specialist

ChessKid is looking for a proactive, solutions oriented person who can solve issues, interact with customers and troubleshoot.  

This is a role with a unique schedule! Your regular work schedule will be Wednesday-Sunday.

Your primary responsibilities will be:

*Saturday-Sunday:
-Help support live ChessKid events when they happen! You will become an expert in understanding the most common troubleshooting steps that customers encounter during live tournaments. You will interface directly with customers via chat, diagnose their problems quickly, find a technical solution for them, or creatively offer alternatives.

*Wed-Fri:
-You'll spend these days helping to asynchronously troubleshoot problems for customers related to events. You may also be called upon to help perform administrative functions like setting up accounts and tournament setup.
-You may be asked to help do QA (quality assurance) work where you will test new software features, log any bugs or user interface concerns, prioritize them and then communicate them to our developer team.  

On weekends where no events are scheduled, you can assist with scheduling future events or performing QA and technical support activities.  


Requirements for role:
-1+ year of technical support, customer relations or equivalent experience
-Outstanding English skills with fine attention to detail
-Strong technical aptitude. Ability to pick up new software skills quickly
-Strong communication skills. You will be asked to communicate both in real-time and asynchronously with customers as well as internal ChessKid staff.  
-Outstanding prioritization skills. This is a role where you may be asked to perform multiple tasks in parallel. You should be able to quickly prioritize the most important issues.
-Adaptable.  You must be able to work well under pressure, especially when customers may get impatient
-Some chess knowledge is a bonus, but not required.
-Strong experience with ChessKid is a huge plus
-Experience with project google suite of products, project management tools like Trello, Asana, Jira is a plus
-US time zone strongly preferred
