The Annual Members Exhibition 2024 is a celebration of the finest contemporary craft by members of the Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador. In this exhibition, the Craft Council Gallery embraces the support that fine craftspeople give to our space.
For the 2024 member's show, we invite members to submit their best unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that they have created over the past year.
Craft has always been an innovative and integral part of this country’s history and we at The Craft Council Gallery seek to celebrate craft in all its diversity and beauty. The Gallery champions contemporary fine craft
and embraces diverse materials, techniques, and approaches. From decorative to sculptural, craft varies with each maker, and is changing every day.
The Gallery appreciates and considers all entries; from small pieces, to furniture and series of works. Although we will do our best to include all the pieces submitted, our fine crafts jury will select the pieces based on excellence of technique and that will make a more coherent show.
All media, styles and themes are welcome.
CRITERIA:
Works will be accepted on the basis of excellence in technique, use of materials and design. The committee will choose pieces that will build a cohesive exhibition of one-of-a-kind fine craft and craft-based art works. Works should have been created in the past year and have not been exhibited in the gallery prior. While the committee makes every effort to include a broad range of visual art, the Craft Council Gallery’s priority is craft and craft-based art. Artists may submit up to three (3) works clearly identified, one of which may be
a 3 or 4 piece set. All entries must be ready to install and should come with specific installation, hanging and/or other necessary instructions in writing.
SALES:
The Annual Members Exhibition has historically been our most well-attended show of the year. In 2024, the AME will take place during peak tourist season, offering the benefit of increased traffic and programming within the Gallery.
To create a balanced show with equal opportunities to showcase sellable and non-sellable work, artists will have the option to mark their first piece as either for sale or not for sale (NFS). All subsequent entries (2 through 3) must be for sale. By submitting, I agree that if my works are chosen, I will release them for exhibition by the Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador Gallery on a consignment agreement in which the Gallery will retain 40% of the retail price and the maker will receive 60%.

TIMELINE:
- Deadline to submit forms/paperwork: May 31, 2024
- Deliver your works to the Gallery by Friday, June 7th, 2024. (Entries will be considered in-person by the AME committee following the June 7th deadline, and artists will be notified of the committee's decision thereafter.)
- AME Show Dates: June 28th-August 2, 2024
