Chainsaws and Chili Sign-up!
On October 2nd from 9am - 3pm we will be chopping up six downed trees that need to be removed from animal habitats. Three of the trees died this year due to drought and had to be cut down for animal safety. The other three fell last winter during storms.

Volunteers must be 18 years or older, strong enough to safely use a chainsaw and wood splitter, and sign a liability waiver. Please do not bring children to this volunteer day or other adults who are not volunteering; there will be no child supervision or tours offered on this day. Vegan chili, cornbread, and salad will be provided to volunteers for lunch!

We will be following COVID-19 protocols and ask that unvaccinated volunteers please wear masks around our animal residents, staff, and other volunteers, as there are times we’ll be closer than 6 feet apart while working. Vaccinated volunteers may omit masks so long as they bring proof of vaccination.

Close-toed shoes are required at all times for safety and boots are recommended. For the safety of all animals and guests, companion animals are not allowed on the property. There is no smoking on the property.
If volunteers bring their own snacks they must be free of animal products (meat, dairy, eggs, honey, gelatin, etc.) out of respect for our residents and mission.
