Free Expression at UW–Madison Training Completion Form
What:
The Free Expression module is being sent to all incoming students at the University. You are being asked to review the videos so that you know what is being communicated to students.
Who:
All academic staff
and
university staff supervisors.
Student supervisors are not required to complete.
Student employees are not required to complete.
When: Due before September 30th, 2024
Time to complete: Approximately 60 Minutes.
Does not have to be completed in one sitting.
Should be completed during work time.
How:
Watch all seven (7) videos in the Free Expression module.
Review the Political Activity and Public Advocacy on Campus: Guidelines for Fall 2024 website.

The contents of the videos apply to
academic freedom
within the University, specifically within the context of attending the University as a student or working as a professor. These videos do not inform employees on expectations associated with speech while working. That information is covered in the "Political Activity and Public Advocacy on Campus: Guidelines for Fall 2024".
