United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties COVID-19 Response & Recovery Fund will provide flexible resources to nonprofit organizations in our region working with communities who are disproportionately impacted by Coronavirus and the economic consequences of this outbreak. The Fund will allow us to deploy resources to community-based organizations to help meet the needs of the most vulnerable members of our community impacted by the pandemic and will be flexible to meet emerging needs in this fast-changing environment.  

Funding Priorities Include:
- Emergency food, shelter, and other basic needs
- Expansion of service capacity related to increased demand for direct services
- Technology and other resources to assist organizations meeting community needs resulting from COVID-19

Funding range: $500 – $2,000

Guidelines
Because we may receive a high volume of requests for these funds, applicants are advised that we do not expect to be able to cover all funding requests; and we may not be able to fund the full amount of each request. However, we are committed to making the best use of available resources to address the highest priority needs.

Applicants are limited to non-profit organizations that are:
- Located in Monongalia County, WV and/or Preston County, WV
- Providing services to residents of Monongalia County, WV and/or Preston County, WV impacted by COVID-19
- Certified as tax exempt under Section 501 (c)(3) or have a fiscal sponsor with a 501 (c)(3) tax status
- Able to track and report on utilization and outcome data

Organizations are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and awards will be made on a rolling basis as funds are available.
Currently, there is no application deadline.

The distribution plan may be adjusted based on emerging needs and in response to changing situations.
