21-22 Comments for Flippin School District
Flippin School District is currently applying for a McKinney Vento Grant that will provide $20,000 for each of the following school years: 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25. The details of the grant focus on hiring a Homeless System Navigator that will work with the 58 students experiencing homelessness in elementary, middle and high school. Focused job duties of the newly created position will include identifying student needs that become barriers to learning and using services and supports funded through the ARP McKinney Vento II Grant to overcome those barriers. Examples of services and supports are as follows: student participation in a clean laundry program; needed medical, dental or vision services; sports physicals; OT/PT services; hygiene baskets; and extracurricular activity supplies and equipment such as instruments for band or athletic gear for sports. This will allow students experiencing homelessness access and participation in activities ALL students participate in.

We welcome and will take into consideration comments from the public. Please share any comments below regarding the District's plan to create a Homeless System Navigator Position funded through this grant application.
