2020-2021 6th Grade Course Request
We are so excited to welcome you to Breckenridge Junior High next year!  You will be taking the following courses:  Math, English Language Arts, World Cultures (Social Studies), Science, PE, Fine Art, and and  a semester each of Writing/Reading Workshop and Technology Applications.  You have options for some classes.  Use this form to choose those options.  Understand this is a request, not a guarantee.  Final schedules will be created based on number of requests, educational need, and course/teacher availability.

FINE ART:  Choose either Art or Band.  If you choose band, the band directors will help you with instrument selection once school begins. *
PE:  Choose either PE or Pre-Athletics.  6th grade does not participate in UIL Athletics.  There are no games or after-school practices.  Pre-Athletics will introduce and teach fundamentals of the sports in which students may participate in 7th-8th grade.  PE will be for those students who do not wish to participate in future school athletics. *
MATH:  Do you wish to take an accelerated math class that allows you to take Algebra I for high school credit in 8th grade (and more advanced math classes in high school)?  Choosing the advanced math option indicates an interest in the course.  You must then meet criteria (prior STAAR scores, grades in math, teacher recommendation) to participate in the course. *
