NSSD Budget Committee Appointment Application

This form is to allow interested residents within the North Santiam School District boundaries to be considered for appointment to the NSSD Budget Committee. Position #9 has been vacated and expires on June 30, 2024. There will be an agenda item on the February 16, 2023 Regular Session meeting to review the applications received as of that date. The Board may choose to either appoint the new member from the applications received or vote to extend the application period and appoint the new member during the March 16, 2023 meeting.

Every district must set up a budget committee, which is the vehicle that enables the public to participate in the budget process. After receiving the proposed budget from the budget officer, the committee must hold meetings (typically in May) to examine and possibly revise the document. The committee must then make the revised budget available for public comment. After holding the public hearing, the committee may make additional revisions and hold more public hearings before sending the budget to the district’s board for final adoption in June.
