Music Mind Games Unit 1 Malaysia
Workshop dates: 5-9th September 2022

Unit 1 Course Description:
1. Unit 1 workshop includes 30 hours of teaching over five days (6 hours training with 1 hour lunch and tea breaks daily) and covers more than 105 games.
2. In this workshop:
• Teachers will learn how to use Music Mind Games for individual teaching, small groups and in the classroom.
• The philosophy of Music Mind Games and the curriculum are thoroughly explored.
• Games are presented in sequence and teachers will have time to play the games together, ask questions and make comments.
• Workshops will also include 1 or 2 demonstration classes with local students. Teachers who are interested to send their student(s) for demonstration class please make arrangement with the organizer.
3. Schedule of workshop will be announced. Kindly note that daily lunch and light refreshments will be provided.
4. Workshop will be conducted in English.
5. Certificate of attendance will be awarded.

Teacher Trainer: Silvia Crusellas Maña
Teacher Trainer Profile
Silvia began her violin studies at the age of 7 at the Professional Conservatoire of Music of Sabadell in Barcelona, Spain under the guidance of Professor Josep Lluis Puig Bartolome & Solange Dessane from Toulon, France the follower of the Dominique Hoppenot (Le Violon Interieur) method of violin playing, extending them at the Superior Conservatoire of Music of Barcelona with Professor Joan Pamies & Evgeny Grach, member of the London Symphony Orchestra.

In 1996, she moved to London to study with violinist Rodney Friend, Professor at the Royal College of Music. Obtaining the CT ABRSM at The City Lit, under the guidance of Lesley Shrigley Jones, she started teaching privately in London. Enthusiastic about early education, in 2001 she started her training on the Suzuki method, gaining the Suzuki Method Diploma, recognised by the British Suzuki Institute and the European Suzuki Association, under the Guidance of Felicity Lipman, Barbara Parham & Alison Apley. She was then voted as President of the Suzuki Spanish Federation in 2017, and re-voted again in year 2019. In 2011, she was accepted at the University of Sheffield where she completed a Master’s Degree in Music Psychology in Education.

Background:
Year 2009:
- Travelled to Bloomington USA to study the program “String Pedagogy”, at Jacobs School of Music Indiana University under the guidance of Mimi Zweig and her co-tutors Brenda Brenner, Sherry Simit, James Przygocki and Rebecca Henry.
Year 2011 & 2012:
- Received her Certificates as Music Mind Games qualified teacher.
Year 2014:
- She gained her Certificates on SECE (Suzuki Early Childhood Education), education specialised from 0 to 3 years, under the guidance of her creator Dorothy Jones, in Switzerland.
- Recognized as Teacher Trainer of Unit 1 Music Mind Games in Denmark by founder and creator, Michiko Yurko.
Year 2017:
- Awarded certification on Gordon, Music Learning Theory, for 0 to 3 years.
- Voted as President of the Suzuki Spanish Federation, and re-voted again in year 2019.
Year 2018:
- Received her Dalcroze Certificate.
- Recognized as Teacher Trainer of Unit 2 Music Mind Games in Washington D.C by founder and creator, Michiko Yurko.
Year 2019:
- Qualification on Viola Suzuki method, on levels 1 & 2.

Silvia has performed with the Chamber orchestra “Eduard Toldrá”, where she played as a soloist and with Altissimo Ensemble, recording in 2008 a CD “San Gejtanu” and with whom she performed at the Royal Festival Hall in London in 2009, presenting the compositions of Ian Steward. At present, she collaborates with Tactum Ensemble (Barcelona) and with the Orchestra Collegium Musicum La Rioja (Logroño).

Silvia has been invited to many Suzuki workshops in England, Holland, Ireland and Spain and to many Teacher Training Courses for Music Mind Games in England, Holland, Ireland, Spain, Poland & Scotland.
At present, she lives in La Rioja, Spain, where she teaches violin, viola, Dalcroze, SECE, Gordon and Music Mind Games to children and where she trains other teachers to become Music Mind Games teachers.

Silvia wants to give the opportunity to every child to learn through music and be highly educated as human beings. She also wants to help many teachers to become better teachers.

Participants
1. Open to music teachers: All instruments, voice and classroom.
2. It is not recommended that parents (not applicable to those who has music background) who want to teach their own children to join this workshop since their educational backgrounds and goals are different from music teachers.
3. In order to ensure teachers received personalized attention, we can only accept a maximum of 18 teachers in this workshop. When the workshop is fully signed up, the remaining teachers will be put under waiting list.
Workshop Setting
A. Physical attendance:
1. Teachers will sit in a semi-circle surrounding a large open space used for game playing. Please note that all games will be played on the floor.
3. Teachers who are not comfortable seated on the floor during the entire workshop will have small tables and chairs in close proximity to the teaching space. Kindly inform organiser in advance for preparation.
4. It is recommended that teachers wear comfortable clothes that allow flexibility.
5. Teachers will be asked to remove your shoes for their comfort and to keep the game space
clean and safe. Please wear socks during the entire workshop.
6. Teachers are encouraged to keep the venue clean by tidying and cleaning before and after workshop is conducted.

B. Online attendance:
- Teachers will attend workshop via ZOOM simultaneously while Silvia conducts her workshop in person in Malaysia.
- Puppy packet is the mandatory material
- Fee is the same as physical workshop: RM1990 (early bird), RM2190 (normal price)
- Timing is the same as physical workshop
- Certificate will be rewarded

C. 1-day trial class:
- Teacher may choose to attend 1-day trial class either online or in person on the first day of the workshop: 5th September 2022 with Silvia.
- Fee: RM450
- NO certificate will be rewarded
* After the 1-day trial, if teacher wishes to continue and complete the entire Unit 1, they are welcome to do so. Remaining payment of RM1740 shall be made after class on 5th September 2022. Certificate will be rewarded for teachers who complete the entire workshop.

1. Puppy packet: Kindly make an order if you need one.
2. Music Mind Games Book:
• The Music Mind Games book contains all the information related to Music Mind Games
philosophies, photos, charts, curriculum and games for Unit 1.
•  Fee for Music Mind Games book will be announced 4 weeks before the workshop and payment shall be made latest on the first day of workshop.
3. Note book for note taking.
3. Phone or camera to take photos of games. However, continuous video recording or photo taking of the workshop is not permitted as it is too distracting.
4. Floor cushions (if needed)
5. Drinking water and snacks (if needed)
