Calming the Critic: Self-Compassion Workshop Description
Are you constantly second guessing yourself or putting yourself down? Do you find it difficult to treat yourself with the same love and kindness that you show to others?
Learn how to calm the self-critical voice in your head so you can have a healthy relationship with yourself, live a happy life, and have healthy relationships with others.

Calming the Critic is an 8-week long virtual workshop for adults who find it difficult to show themselves love and kindness. This workshop teaches adults how to be mindful of their inner critic and practice self-love and acceptance to live a more fulfilling life. Everyone can benefit from this workshop because everyone can use a little more self-love! 💜💙

DURATION: 
January 26th - March 16th, 2023
WHEN: Thursdays from 11am-12:30pm MST (Arizona time)
WHERE: via Zoom video conferencing
WHO: Open to all adults in the US (participants in other states will need to adjust the time of the workshop to their respective time zone.)
COST:

- How to identify barriers to self-compassion and overcome them
- How to practice mindfulness and relaxation techniques in order to self-soothe and attune to yourself
- How to be aware of negative thoughts and replace them with more helpful and positive thoughts
- How to overcome feelings of shame using self-compassion
- How to live a life filled with compassion

Week 3 – Preparing for Self-Compassion
Week 4 – Compassionate Imagery
Week 5 - Compassionate Thinking
Week 6 – Compassion and Shame Resilience
Week 7 – Compassionate Behavior
Week 8 – Compassionate Living

A very unique and helpful component of this workshop is that we will be using a team collaboration app in order to communicate with the group facilitator and other group participants in between group meetings. This means that you will not only receive support during the actual group meetings, but you will also receive support throughout your week! The app helps you to connect with the other group participants, hold each other accountable and feel motivated while working towards your goals.
