Ever wanted to get to know the person of Jesus? Perhaps you’ve been intrigued, confused, amazed by claims of people who claim to follow him? Whatever your background or belief, we would love to offer you the chance to read the Bible with someone and encounter the person of Jesus for yourself!
If you are a postgrad or mature student, instead of signing up here, we recommend getting in touch with the Oxford Pastorate, a Christian charity that connects and organises events for postgrads:
https://www.facebook.com/oxfordpastorate For anyone else: you can sign-up for one of two opportunities (or both!):
1) Read the Bible one-to-one with a fellow student, or in a small group. You’ll be matched with a student from the Oxford Christian Union (hopefully from your own college) who would love to meet you and have a chat and read! Your reading partner/group leader will email you to make plans!
2) Get to know the person of Jesus at The Search. If you'd like to take the time to explore the meaning and message of Jesus' life in the context of a group discussion (with free cakes and drinks from Costa!) then this is the option for you! The Search is a series of open discussion groups every Monday during term-time at 7:30pm, where we rent the top floor of Costa Queens St. It's really relaxed, and you'd be encouraged to bring any and all questions you might have.
Please don't feel that you've got to have access to a physical Bible - that won't be an issue! There are several free-to-access online Bibles available, and your reading partner/group leader will be happy to recommend one to you.
If you're at all interested in either of the above opportunities then please fill out the form to let us know. Completing the form does not commit you to anything, and after you've completed it we'll get in touch via email to arrange more specific details :)
Love,
OICCU (the Oxford Inter-Collegiate Christian Union)
