No Shame On U is accepting applications for its Teen Ambassador Program.
There is a growing mental health crisis among American teens. One of the best ways to combat this growing problem is to raise mental health awareness. To this end, No Shame On U has developed the No Shame On U Teen Leadership Board. In this inaugural year, teens will participate in a four-month-long immersive leadership program educating high school students (9-12th grade) about mental health issues, raising their awareness about mental health stigma and its daily impact on peers and the community at large, and providing them with the tools to destigmatize mental illness. Teens will meet monthly for expert-led module seminars on mental health and illness, and together will design a program for May Mental Health Awareness month. By participating in the Teen Leadership Board, teens are expected to gain content-specific mental health knowledge and develop leadership and community building skills.

PROGRAM DATES: (The Teen Leadership Board meets monthy October 2023 - May 2024. Most sessions are 4-6 pm on Sunday afternoons. Some session dates may be adjusted.)

Program Requirements:
* You are currently a 9th - 12th grader in the Chicagoland area;
* Attend monthly learning seminars - one Sunday afternoon per month, (4-6pm, exact dates to be announced soon);
* You are on the board and will plan and execute a May Teen Mental Health Awareness Program; you will bring 5 or more friends to participate;
* You are passionate about mental health; and
* You are ready to step up as a leader in your community.
