Tabibu Africa Volunteer Application for June 2025 Expedition
Before filling out this application to volunteer overseas with us please consider the following information:

Tabibu Africa, Inc delivers our work by traveling to areas in East Africa at least once a year (or more as funding permits). We run medical clinics, host education classes, host numerous workshops and aid in construction and/or agricultural projects. We do this by taking a group of volunteers to the areas we serve. We spend approximately 2-2 1/2 weeks in and around the sustainable areas that need assistance the most.

Volunteers work very hard in medical, education, sanitation, and agriculture. Team members are rewarded with cultural experiences on their days off as well as a 3-day safari so they can experience Africa and what makes it our home. We all work very hard, but our volunteers always leave with a lifetime of memories and a truly life-changing experience.

We must travel 7+ hours via automobile to get to the areas we serve on roads ranging from pavement to poorly kept dirt roads. Our air travel can also take 24+ hours in each direction. If you can't sit or stand for long periods of time you might want to rethink applying.

We travel to developing/third world countries. Electricity and running water are luxuries and not reliable. Toilet seats and toilet paper are also optional and usually sparse.

Conditions can be physically draining; dirty, dusty, hot, cold, loud, and smelly.

Not often but occasionally we must walk into certain areas so if you are not able to walk one mile on uneven ground, applying for an expedition may not be for you.

We live in close quarters during the time of our expedition and often stay in our In-Country Director's home or in other host facilities/homes. If you don't work well with people, snoring roommates, loud noises, or get frustrated easily these expeditions may not be for you.

If you are picky about food this trip may not be for you. While staying with our host family (In-Country Director) they go out of their way to cook for us with local and inexpensive foods.

We have a no drug policy, no exceptions. (If you have prescribed medications that is okay) and we must obey the laws of the land. Some medicine's (cannabis) are legal in some of the United States but are against the Law in certain African Countries and are enough cause to serve jail time.

The total cost for your expedition is $4500 USD per person. This covers roundtrip airfare from the United States/Canada, transportation, lodging, food, water, guides, cultural experiences, and a 3-day safari. A deposit of $500 USD is needed UPON acceptance to the team to hold your place. Fundraising idea's will be given to you upon acceptance as well as a payment schedule.
*This does not include the cost of your visa which can be $55, however at this time Kenya is waiving this fee. Subject to change.

We often stay with our In-Country Director at his home in Western Kenya, with his wife and children. All volunteers must be respectful and remember that we are all guests in their home. *
