G'day, future Lifter!
Thank you so much for your interest in joining us for one of the greatest, most fulfilling experiences of your entire uni career. We are so excited that you have decided to come along for our big adventure and apply for The Big Lift's Winter Trip 2024!
Before we embark on this journey together, we just have a few questions for you to answer. And not to fret, there is no such thing as right or wrong here. Each question is only there for you to have a chance to show your character, so do your best to answer them on your own and don't be afraid to put a bit of heart into it!
If you're reading this, you probably have some kind of idea of what The Big Lift is, but here's a rundown anyway. TBL was established in 2010, meaning that this is our 14th year running! This social initiative takes eighty students on a journey from Sydney across to nine regional communities. We aim to leave a meaningful yet lasting impact on the communities we work with through different service projects. Our underlying motto is to ‘pay it forward’; keeping in mind the idea of fostering a sense of civic duty and leadership in our participants by giving them the opportunity to step out of the classroom and give back to the community in a practical way.
This year we are excited to announce that the trip will run from Saturday 6th of July to Sunday 14th of July 2024. We will be making our way up to Surfer's Paradise, Queensland!
Date: 6 July - 14 July 2024
Cost: $550 (This covers travel, accommodation, food and activities for nine days. It's so worth it, pinky promise)
Sounds exciting, right? If you want in, the first step is to submit this application. Trust us, this application will be a breeze as long as you are being yourself. However, if you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to shoot an email to our super friendly super cool president Annabelle at president@biglift.org.
Unfortunately, as much as we would love to accept previous Winter Trip participants again, this trip can only be undertaken once. Sorry! We still love you!

***PLEASE NOTE: We will be taking every necessary precaution to ensure this is a safe event for our participants and the towns we visit. Some precautions that will be in place include: full vaccination of all participants, disinfecting areas we sleep and eat in, as well as abiding by any other NSW & QLD regulations. In submitting this application, you are consenting to these rules.
Additionally, it is important to know that this trip will involve social activities, and there may be some nights where you will get little sleep. If you suffer from any health conditions, please consult with a medical professional to confirm that this trip is safe to go on before submitting your application.***
