Colorado educators, share your thoughts on early childhood discipline
With Colorado lawmakers considering legislation — House Bill 19-1194 — aimed at limiting out-of-school suspensions and expulsions for children in preschool through second grade, we're interested in hearing from preschool and early elementary teachers. Your experiences will  help inform our coverage and the ongoing debate about school discipline. We may publish a selection of these submissions.

Are you concerned about how the early childhood discipline bill could affect you or your school if it becomes law? Why or why not?
Currently, what are some of the reasons that a child in your class or school would be given an out-of-school suspension?
Do you have a go-to trick or tool to de-escalate a child's challenging behavior? What is it?
Do you feel you have all the tools you need to handle children's challenging behavior in your classroom or school? If not, what other tools would help?
Please share any other thoughts you have about early childhood discipline.
How would you like to be identified if we publish your submission? (Full names are welcome but not required. One example might be: Sarah, a kindergarten teacher in Denver, CO)
What is your name and email address? (Don't worry, we won't publish your contact information. We'll only use it to follow up.)
