Five Locks Walk Trail Guide Project
Help us identify plants at a National Historic Landmark! The D&H Canal Historical Society (High Falls, NY) is creating a trail guide for the National Historic Landmark Five Locks Walk. The trail, located behind the museum, follows locks 16-20 of the old D&H Canal. The seasonal trail guide will provide visitors with information about local flora and fauna along the trail, invasive species, locations of poisonous plants, and some canal history. We need your help! Volunteers for the project will walk along the Five Locks Walk (FLW) and identify plants animals along the trail as the seasons progress. Not only will this project produce a seasonal trail guide, but it will also us to monitor the local wildlife and track any changes that may occur. We ask that participants ONLY submit observations taken along the Five Locks Walk to this project.
