Course Requirements
This will be a blended course so that we can do part of the training at home and reduce the course length, which means:
- 21hrs of face to face learning practical skills and theory
- roughly 5-10 hrs to complete the online theory assessment.
Both components are mandatory to meet the requirements of the course and be eligible for assessment.
Assessment
The Assessment will be conducted on the final day of the course and will cover all skills and knowledge learned.
Should any candidate not be ready to be assessed on any components of the course or found to to be confident enough with any component, they will be signed off as competent in everything else and then provided further training and the opportunity to be re-assessed on the other areas once they are ready.
The purpose of assessment is to ensure all candidates a confident and fully prepared with the skills required to be a lifesaver, therefore we provide an environment and time for all candidates to acquire these skills, even if requires a little further training beyond the course dates.
