2024 AFLTA Competition: Teacher Registration

Teachers must first complete this form to register for the 2024 Arkansas World Languages Competition sponsored by AFLTA and hosted by the University of Central Arkansas.

After completing this form you will be directed to a separate link to be used for student registrations. Please make sure you have all student information ready before completing the student form, including names, levels, desired events (individual and group).

Participating teachers must be active members of AFLTA for 2023-2024.  If you need to pay membership dues, please do so by visiting www.aflta.org Please confirm that your membership has been paid BEFORE you register for the competition this year and do not include your membership payment with your student registration payment. 

Each teacher is limited to a total of 20 participants for individual events.  Teachers may register NO MORE than 5 students in any particular event, excepting Group Talent and Culture Bowl.  Participating teachers are expected to be present and serve as a judge during the competition. The registration fee for ALL participants, regardless of the number of events, is $10 per student.  The fee will not be refunded and substitutions cannot be made after March 1st for this year's competition.

Registration payments can be made online or by school check.  Payments should be completed prior to the event and all checks emailed to Rosalie Cheatham, as indicated on the payment invoice that will be sent to you.  Please see the event website for payment links and additional information.

Competition t-shirts will be available this year.  Students and teachers MUST pre-order their shirts for $15 during the registration period.  Unfortunately, NO t-shirts will be for sale at the event.

The Student Registration spreadsheet must be finalized and submitted no later than Tuesday, February 20.  Any changes or substitutions must be communicated promptly.  No substitutions can be made after February 28.

You will receive an automated invoice upon completing this registration form.  If your invoice is incorrect, or you happen to need a group invoice for your school, simply contact the Chair.

Due to UCA's legal requirements to ensure the safety of all minor visitors to campus, any adult volunteers (to include teachers, faculty, chaperones, and college volunteers) will be sent a form through email to complete a background check through HireRight after registration. This email may look spammy and seem like you are applying for a job, but this is in fact the tool they will use to conduct their background check.  If you have parents or teachers (not competing) who are serving as chaperones for your group and will be on campus that day, we will need them to sign up using our Volunteer Form and simply mark "chaperone" so that they will be included in this process. If you participated in the competition last year, your background check will still be valid and you should not receive this request. We are sorry for any added inconvenience. Thank you for helping contribute to a safe campus environment!
