HBV Tutor Application
Halton Black Voices is seeking passionate and enthusiastic tutors to join our Equity Learning Space team. As a tutor at HBV, you will have the opportunity to positively impact students, both personally and academically. We take pride in delivering results and providing experiences that matter to all of the students, and educators play a key role in this journey. The successful candidates will be organized and detail oriented. Candidates must be confident teaching high school students. Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • OCT is preferred, is an asset, but not required. University and High School Students may apply
  • Previous experience working with students is an asset
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • A passion to help students reach their potential and build confidence
  • Exceptionally organized, high attention to detail, and reliable
  • Ability to teach groups of up to 4 students

  • Milton

  • Burlington

  • Oakville

  • Halton Hills

Salary:
  • $20 - $46

Job Type:

  • Part-time, Seasonal, Volunteer (September - June)

Part-time hours:

  • 4 - 20hrs per week

Schedule:

  • Monday - Thursday after school tutoring - 4PM - 8PM

  • Sunday - 3 - 8PM

Education:

  • High School

  • Bachelor’s Degree/College Diploma

  • OCT

Experience:

  • Teaching/Tutoring

  • Public Speaking

  • Decolonizing education/learning

  • Anti-oppressive, equity values and practices
